The Agricultural Institute was established under the leadership of Dr. Sam
Higginbottom, in 1910, as an ecumenical Institution of the Christian Churches
and Church organizations in India. In order to obtain more academic freedom and
to strengthen the specialized programmes of Teaching, Research and Extension a
proposal was submitted to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of
India by the Director, Dr. Rajendra B. Lal on the 31st of August 1994, that the
Institute be granted the status of a Deemed University. In 1997 a team of
experts from ICAR and UGC visited the Institute and gave their recommendation
that the Institute be declared as a Deemed University, as it had all the
potentials of a University. On the 15th of March 2000, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi,
Honable Minister of HRD, Govt. of India, gave his approval to the
recommendations of the UGC.

Shobhit Institute of Engineering & Technology, Meerut (Shobhit University,
Meerut) has been granted Deemed-to-be University status by the Government of
India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education
vide its Notification No. F-9-37/2004-U.3(A) dated November 8, 2006 under
section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act 1956. Under Section 3 of the
UGC Act, Deemed-to-be University status is granted by the Central Government to
those educational institutions of repute, which fulfill the prescribed standards
and comply with various requirements laid down by the UGC.
Our second University, Shobhit University Uttar Pradesh at Gangoh, Saharanpur
district, has been notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh under section
2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956. This University is
set up under the Shobhit Vishwavidhaylaya, Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam, 2011 (U.P.
Act No.3 of 2012), passed by Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented by the H.E.
Governor of Uttar Pradesh in March 2012.
Shobhit University aims to create a conducive, enabling academic climate to
facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present
system and to develop educational means by which men and women deal critically
and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the
transformation of their world.
The ambition of the University is to promote learning in Indian tradition with
international outlook. The University offers undergraduate, graduate, research
scholars and professional students, the knowledge and skills needed to succeed
as persons and professional in niche technical areas, and the values and
sensitivity necessary to be men and women for others.

Punjab Technical University (PTU) was established in the Year 1997 under the
Punjab Technical University Act, 1996 (Punjab Act No. 1 of 1997) to provide for
the establishment and incorporation of a University for the advancement of
technical education and developement thereof in the State of Punjab and for
matters connected therewith.
PTU has been formed to be the grooming ground for the future Engineers, Managers
and Researchers. The University is fully recognised by University Grants
Commission (UGC). Punjab Technical University affiliates various engineering,
management and pharmacy colleges in the state.
The courses are directly offered by University through our Study Centre. The
courses of the University are approved by Distance Education Council (DEC).

The university had been established under the Act number 9 of 2004 by the U. P.
State Government. It is rather historic that, within a span of six years the
Institute of Integral Technology on account of its educational excellence,
credibility and value based education in a highly disciplined and decorous
environment was recognized as a noted seat of learning all across the country
and thus was granted a University status in 2004.
The Integral University relies on high quality teaching, original research and
vibrant on campus social life with discipline acedemic ambience and eco-friendly
environment. It has fostered successful collaborations with other centers of
higher education to strengthen and reinforce its educational framework. The
University provides quality education within an affordable fee structure.
The meritorious and poor students are also backed up by scholarships from

NIELIT
|
National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), (erstwhile
DOEACC Society), an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative
control of Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry
of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, was set up to
carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of
Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT).
NIELIT is engaged both in Formal & Non-Formal Education in the area of IECT
besides development of industry oriented quality education and training
programmes in the state-of-the-art areas.
NIELIT has endeavored to establish standards to be the country's premier
institution for Examination and Certification in the field of IECT. It is also
one of the National Examination Body, which accredits institutes/organizations
for conducting courses in IT in the non-formal sector.
